74 hours left

I leave on Wednesday to go pick John up!!! On Wednesday night there is a social for the soldiers and their families to be able to spend time together and so that the families can meet the drill sergeants and the people that they've spent the past 16 weeks with. Then on Thursday is graduation and after that he will be free to leave with me!! Then we are taking a slight detour on our way home and stopping in TN for a couple of days of vacation. Thanks again for your prayers that past four months!!

Only 4 more days . . .

. . . until I get to see John!! I am so excited!! We get to spend all of this coming weekend together.
Then he'll only have 45 more days to go until he comes home to me!!! I'm very excited. I just wanted to thank everyone for your prayers for us. That's what has gotten us through these past two months.
The picture to the left is John at this thing last weekend that his troop went to called Operation Fellowship. The one to the right is a picture I took of the platoon picture that the Army sent me. I took this close up so that it's easier to find John. He is in the 2nd row back and 2 over from the right!!
It was so nice to see pictures of him!! Have a good week!!

Happy Birthday to Me!!

John got to call for the second time this past Sunday, he got 6 minutes this time. So that was nice!! He's doing good for being in basic training. We found out that I will get to see him for three days in July during the family weekend that they get and that his graduation will be Sept. 6!!! So that was really exciting!! After this week, he should start getting more privileges, like more phone calls. So that will be nice and there is a slim possibility that after family weekend he will be able to keep his cell phone with him!!
Today is my birthday!! My family is here visiting so that was really nice!! My mom made a birthday dinner and cake for me and I got presents!!
The only thing missing was my husband!! :( But we did celebrate before he left. We went out to dinner and he gave me my birthday presents before he left too! And when I talked to him on Sunday he said that my birthday letter was in the mail!!!
I also wanted to take the time to say how proud I am of my husband for what he's doing (even though I miss him like crazy!!!)!!

John Called!!

John called yesterday afternoon!!!! It was the first time I'd heard from him since Thursday at noon. So it was good to talk to him, even though it was only for 2 minutes. He did find out that he gets done with in-processing and actually starts Basic on friday, May 18th, so that means that he'll be done by September 7th, which is what we were hoping for!! Also, he found out that there will be a family day after week 8, so that will be around July 13th. So I'll get to go visit him for a day!!
So now I may not hear from him for about 2 weeks. But then again, you never know, it just all depends on when his drill sergeant wants to let them call. But I should be getting a packet of information soon telling me the actual dates of family day and graduation and also giving me his address. So then I'll be able to send him letters. I already have a nice collection of letters ready to send, I just need an address.
So anyways, I was just excited to give an update to someone, so I thought I'd post it on here.

John still left. But I won't have anyone living with me anymore. She broke her arm and won't be able to lifeguard anymore, so I'm by myself again. Just thought I'd update what I wrote last time.
